Every field on the form, mapped to a column on the board

Set the mapping once. Every submission after that arrives already populated, not as a generic "see attached" entry.

From Formester

  • Text fields: short text, long text, email, phone, URL
  • Choice fields: single-choice, multi-choice, dropdown
  • Date and time: date, time, scheduler
  • Numeric: number, currency, calculated total
  • File upload: single or multiple files
  • Signature: attached as an image
  • Hidden fields: UTM, source, campaign, custom
  • Meta: submission ID and timestamp

To monday.com

  • New item in the board you pick
  • Status column: set the initial status on create
  • Person column: auto-assign by team or rotation rule
  • Date, numbers, text, email, phone, country, link, dropdown columns
  • File / Files column: upload attached directly to the item
  • Update / comment: structured submission summary on the item

Custom column types (formula, mirror, board relations) can be written to via monday's mutation API. For mirrored columns, write to the source column on the linked board, not the mirror.

Connect in under a minute, no developer needed

The native integration handles the connection in a few clicks. No Zapier subscription, no webhook JSON to map, no middleware to maintain.

Open the monday.com integration in Formester

In your Formester form's Integrations tab, find monday.com in the integration list and click Connect. Sign into your monday account in the popup, authorize Formester, and pick the board and group where new items should land.

Map fields to columns

Drag each form field to a monday column. The board's actual column names appear in the dropdown, pulled live from monday. Standard fields (name, email, phone) auto-map. Set up the mapping once; the integration remembers it for every future submission.

Submit a test response

Fire a test response, confirm the new item appears on the right board with the right columns populated and any file uploads attached, flip live.

Need more control? Formester also supports raw webhook and Zapier as fallbacks for power users. The native integration covers every flow listed on this page without either of them.

When Formester is the better fit

monday's WorkForms ships free with monday and works fine for internal-only intake. Where it stops short for anything externally-facing:

Capability monday WorkForms Formester → monday
Multi-step forms with progress bar Linear questions only Yes, with branching steps
Conditional logic across pages Single-question show/hide Full multi-field, multi-page
Custom design (fonts, CSS, custom domain) monday-branded Full design control, white-label
File upload with size and type controls Yes, monday's limits Yes, configurable per field
Payments (Stripe, PayPal) Not native Native, see online order form
Signature capture No native field Yes, see electronic signature

Takeaway: Internal team intake, WorkForms is fine. Anything customer-facing, branded, or money-handling, Formester sends to monday.

Common questions

Why use the native integration over Zapier or a webhook?

The native integration ships inside Formester. A few clicks, one minute, no per-task fees, no JSON mapping, no middleware to maintain. Zapier costs around $20 to $40 per month for moderate volume and adds a 1-to-15-minute delay on free tiers. A raw webhook is free but you write and maintain the JSON-to-monday field mapping yourself. The native integration does the same job, faster to set up, with no recurring cost or code.

Do I need a paid monday plan?

monday's free plan caps boards and integrations. Most form-to-board flows need monday's Standard plan ($12/seat) or higher for unlimited boards and integration runs. Check your current limits before connecting. Full monday pricing at monday.com/pricing.

What happens to file uploads?

Files attach to the monday File / Files column directly on the item. The recruiter or PM sees the resume, contract, or asset on the item without leaving monday.

Can it update an existing item instead of creating a new one?

Yes, with a unique-identifier field (email, submission ID, or a custom field). Set the mapping to "Update if match found, else create." Useful for re-submissions, edits, and forms behind a logged-in portal.

Will it slow down the form submission for the user?

No. The post-to-monday step runs asynchronously after the respondent sees the thank-you page. A delay or failure on monday's side never blocks the form from submitting on Formester's side.

How do I test before going live?

Connect to a sandbox board, submit a test response, verify it lands correctly, then point the integration at the live board. Submissions log inside Formester so you can replay any failed send.
